GOP Mean Machine Doubles Down on Mitt’s “Women & Children Last” Agenda

Boehner Will Try to Extend Bush Tax Cuts for Another Year

House Speaker John Boehner told CNBC that he would move legislation to extend the current tax rates for another year.

The so-called Bush tax cuts were extended once already but are due to expire at the end of the year.

Said Boehner: “The reason this isn’t permanent is that — and only for a year — is that we really do want to fix our tax code, both the corporate code and the personal code, bring down tax rates, get rid of all the excess deductions and credits and all the carve-outs and nonsense that we have in the code today.”

Shouldn’t a grown man know better!?

“This is what my 3 year-old twins set up this morning.  I asked why the dog was on top, and Brooke said that he didn’t fit in the van.
I asked if the dog liked riding on top, and she said yes.  She also said that the cat and bunny liked riding atop the van (together).
Again, she is 3, so doesn’t know any better.”              – Lisa Tomlinson, Mitt is Mean supporter

Mitt Romney Heckled Over Dog-On-Roof Story – The Huffington Post

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney can’t even grab some pizzas without being reminded of how he treated his dog nearly 30 years ago.

As Romney exited Joe’s Pizza carrying a stack of pizza boxes in New York City on Tuesday, somebody on the sidewalk shouted, “Just don’t put ’em on the roof of the car,” according to a tweet from Reuters reporter Sam Youngman.

In 1983, the Romneys embarked on a 12-hour drive from Massachusetts to Canada. Since there wasn’t enough room in the car for the family dog, Seamus, Romney put the Irish Setter in a crate fastened to the roof of the car. Though Romney has said Seamus loved roof rides, during this particular trip the dog suffered a bout of diarrhea that forced Romney to pull over and hose off the car.

Dog lovers have protested Romney over “Crate-Gate” ever since the Boston Globe first reported it in 2007. Romney said last month that he wouldn’t do it again because of all the attention it received.

Campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul tweeted a photo of Romney carrying the pizzas.

Story of Romney dog Seamus hounding Mitt

The dog-on-the-roof story was offered by the Globe as evidence of Romney’s knack for “emotion-free crisis management.” Well, OK. Picking a president is all about deciding who’ll have a finger on the button for the next four years, and the last thing we need is a guy who loses his cool when the stink hits the windshield at 60 mph.

Romney says he wouldn’t transport dog on roof again – CNN Political Ticker – Blogs

No apology, no remorse, just selfish regret….

When asked if he would transport a dog like that now, Mitt Romney said he would not.

“Certainly not with the attention its received,” Romney said.

Mitt Romney Says ‘Dignity Of Work’ Only Available To Women In The Paid Workforce – Forbes

“I wanted to increase the work requirement,” said Romney. “I said, for instance, that even if you have a child 2 years of age, you need to go to work. And people said, ‘Well that’s heartless.’ And I said, ‘No, no, I’m willing to spend more giving day care to allow those parents to go back to work. It’ll cost the state more providing that daycare, but I want the individuals to have the dignity of work.’”

Mitt Gets $$$ from Nixon Aide Who Barbecued a Dog

Former Nixon Aide Fred Malek to host a lavish fundraiser for Mitt Romney on wife Ann Romney’s birthday. Malek  was once arrested in an incident involving the killing and barbecuing of a dog.

“I don’t think Mitt Romney is purposefully trying to do that, but I think he should more careful about who he aligns himself with,” [Scott] Crider [of Dogs Against Romney] says.

Brad Bannon, spokesman of the Super PAC Mitt is Mean, which also highlights Romney’s supposed cruelty toward dogs, says Romney’s cozy relationship with Malek is further evidence of the GOP candidate’s disregard for animals.

“I am surprised Gov. Romney is going to go to this fundraiser and get money from a guy who barbecued a dog, especially with Mitt Romney’s history with dogs. I was shocked and horrified,” Bannon says. “It illustrates Romney’s general indifference to people and to animals. He doesn’t care about poor people, he doesn’t care about his dog, he doesn’t care about what Fred Malek does to dogs, he is the classic cold blooded corporate raider. He just doesn’t care.”
