“This is what my 3 year-old twins set up this morning. I asked why the dog was on top, and Brooke said that he didn’t fit in the van.
I asked if the dog liked riding on top, and she said yes. She also said that the cat and bunny liked riding atop the van (together).
Again, she is 3, so doesn’t know any better.” – Lisa Tomlinson, Mitt is Mean supporter

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney can’t even grab some pizzas without being reminded of how he treated his dog nearly 30 years ago.
As Romney exited Joe’s Pizza carrying a stack of pizza boxes in New York City on Tuesday, somebody on the sidewalk shouted, “Just don’t put ’em on the roof of the car,” according to a tweet from Reuters reporter Sam Youngman.
In 1983, the Romneys embarked on a 12-hour drive from Massachusetts to Canada. Since there wasn’t enough room in the car for the family dog, Seamus, Romney put the Irish Setter in a crate fastened to the roof of the car. Though Romney has said Seamus loved roof rides, during this particular trip the dog suffered a bout of diarrhea that forced Romney to pull over and hose off the car.
Dog lovers have protested Romney over “Crate-Gate” ever since the Boston Globe first reported it in 2007. Romney said last month that he wouldn’t do it again because of all the attention it received.
Campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul tweeted a photo of Romney carrying the pizzas.

Another mean spirited speech from Mitt. Borrow money from parents?
If only everybody had a rich parent like Mitt. I’m sure his kids didn’t have any trouble paying their tuition.
“This kind of devisiveness, this attack of success, is very different than what we’ve seen in our country’s history.
We’ve always encouraged young people:
Take a shot, go for it, take a risk, get the education, borrow money if you have to from your parents, start a business.”

The Romneys just haven’t learned. Despite the massive public backlash to Mitt Romney’s admission that he strapped his Irish setter Seamus to the roof of his car on family trips — the presidential candidate’s wife Ann is continuing to defend the behavior.
She told Diane Sawyer, “The dog loved it. He would see that crate and, you know, he would, like, go crazy because he was going with us on vacation. It was to me a kinder thing to bring him along than to leave him in the kennel for two weeks.”
This isn’t the first time Ann has fumbled the defense of the incident. In a 2007 blog, Ann Romney said the dog rode “in an enclosed kennel, not in the open air.” In a twisted attempt to prove it was a safe practice, Ann compared the experience with a person riding on a motorcycle or roller coaster.
However when asked if he would put Seamus back on the roof today, Mitt responded, “Certainly not with the attention it’s received.”
A recent survey found that only 20 percent of respondents had a favorable opinion of Romney’s treatment towards dogs, while 44 percent felt confident that Barack Obama is a good leader for the canine population.
No apology, no remorse, just selfish regret….
When asked if he would transport a dog like that now, Mitt Romney said he would not.
“Certainly not with the attention its received,” Romney said.
Former Nixon Aide Fred Malek to host a lavish fundraiser for Mitt Romney on wife Ann Romney‘s birthday. Malek was once arrested in an incident involving the killing and barbecuing of a dog.
“Malek worked with the administrations of both Richard Nixon and George H.W. Bush. While in the Nixon administration, he compiled, at the president’s request, a list of Jews in the federal government. In 1988, Malek resigned from the Republican National Committee over questions about his earlier role in President Nixon’s push to oust Jews from government positions.
Malek apologized and, as with the case of the cooked dog, denied playing a substantial role in the scheme.”
This man is disgusting, and to have Mitt Romney allow this guy to host a big fundraiser, on his wife’s birthday no less, shows that he puts himself and his ambitions above the everday people and families of America. – Mimi
