Mitt is Mean SuperPac Asks Romney to Donate Money from Fundraiser to Animal Rescue Shelters

Boston, MA- Tonight lobbyist Fred Malek is hosting a $20,000 a ticket fundraiser at his home in McLean Virginia to celebrate Ann Romney’s birthday. You may know that Malek is a Washington lobbyist and the former Nixon White House aide helped compile Richard Nixon’s enemy list. But you may not know that Malek was arrested for barbecuing a dog.

Brad Bannon, the spokesman for the SuperPac, Mitt is Mean today called on Mitt Romney to donate the money from tonight’s fundraiser to animal rescue shelters. Bannon said “Fred Malek’s behavior is reprehensible and Mitt Romney’s treatment of his own dog, Seamus is unconscionable. The least that Romney can do tonight is to donate the money from the fundraiser to animal rescue shelters which really care about cats and dogs.”

Bannon pointed to Mitt Romney’s treatment of his own dog, Seamus as another example of Romney’s insensitivity. In 1983, the Romney family took a vacation and drove 12 hours to Canada from the Romney mansion in Massachusetts. During the entire trip, the family’s Irish setter, Seamus was exiled to a crate strapped on top of the station wagon. When Seamus answered the call of nature and rained on the Romney parade, mean Mitt hosed the car and poor Seamus down.

Help keep us nipping at Romney’s heels all the way to Election Day!
